Abstract: [048] The present invention relates to an energy-efficient greywater recycling system and controlled reuse process for residential buildings. The system comprises a greywater collection unit configured to receive greywater from domestic sources including bathrooms, wash basins, laundry units, and kitchen outlets while maintaining separation from blackwater, a multi-stage filtration and treatment unit, a treated water storage unit, a distribution unit, and a control unit. The filtration and treatment unit preferably includes sediment filtration, bio-media treatment, activated carbon filtration, and a low-energy disinfection module. The system is configured to employ gravity-assisted flow for at least a portion of water transfer, thereby reducing pumping energy. The control unit receives sensor inputs corresponding to turbidity, pH, flow rate, and storage condition and selectively regulates pumps, valves, and treatment modules for optimized operation. Treated greywater is stored in a substantially sealed tank and reused for non-potable applications including toilet flushing, irrigation, and utility cleaning, thereby reducing freshwater consumption and operating energy demand.
