MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621100038 A) filed by Thakur, Harish Mansaram; and Thakur, Suvarna Harish on August 19, 2026, for An Energy Efficient Furnace.

Inventors include Thakur, Harish Mansaram; and Thakur, Suvarna Harish.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: The present invention is related to an energy efficient furnace, this high energy-efficient metal melting or smelting furnace comprising an upper zone (110), a middle zone (109), and a lower zone (108). The upper zone (110) has a top opening (101) for charging metal or metal ore and fuel, and is lined with a refractory wall lining (102) supported by a supporting brick construction (103). The middle zone (109) separates the upper zone (110) from the lower zone (108) and is provided with a hole (104) permitting passage of flue gas and molten metal. A space for flue gas suction (105) withdraws flue gas from the lower zone (108), creating a low-pressure region to promote efficient combustion. The lower zone (108) has a hole for molten metal (106) and a hole for slag (107), and may house a crucible (201) accessible through a door (202), the crucible having a hole for removing molten metal (203) and a hole for removing slag (204).
