MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611100408 A) filed by Chitkara University on August 19, 2026, for An Energy-Adaptive Earbud With Kinetic Self-Charging And Predictive Offline Storage.

Inventors include Gaurav Kundu; Anshika Bansal; Avneet Lamba; and Dr. Yogesh.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention an energy-adaptive smart earbud system includes an audio playback subsystem (100), a companion-case external storage interface (200), an energy storage and power management block (300), an energy-adaptive control engine (400), an internal content memory (500), a kinetic energy harvesting subsystem (600), a predictive energy and storage policy module (700), and a wireless network interface (800). A jaw-motion kinetic transducer (610) supplies energy through a low-leakage rectifier (640) to a rechargeable battery (310) and a supercapacitor (320). An embedded microcontroller (410) evaluates harvest telemetry, battery state, buffer occupancy, storage availability, wear state, temperature and link quality. A hardware mode-control matrix (420) operates a power-path switch (330), a content- source multiplexer (430), and a radio transceiver (810). When predicted energy or confidence is insufficient, a deterministic fallback state machine (740) disables streaming and serves local content from a segmented content cache (510), thereby maintaining uninterrupted offline playback while reducing radio-energy consumption.
