MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611102870 A) filed by Suresh Gyan Vihar University on August 26, 2026, for An Electrostatic Powder Coating Device For Uniform Capsule Surface Functionalization Applications.

Inventors include Dr. Gaurav Sharma; and Dr. Ritu Gilhotra.

The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.

Abstract: An electrostatic powder coating device (100) is provided for uniform surface functionalization of capsules (200). The device comprises a coating chamber (110), capsule handling assembly (120), powder reservoir (130), powder metering assembly (140), electrostatic charging assembly (150), powder delivery assembly (160), electrode assembly (170), powder recovery assembly (180), and controller (190). Charged powder particles (310) are directed toward moving and rotating capsules (200) through a controlled electric field (320). Adjustable nozzles (161), field-shaping elements (173), airflow control, and powder recovery improve deposition uniformity and material utilization. The device enables controlled, repeatable, and scalable dry powder surface functionalization of capsules.
