Abstract: ABSTRACT AN ELECTROSTATIC MOTOR An electrostatic motor (20) includes a stator assembly (22) with an insulating housing (36) carrying a plurality of fixed electrodes arranged circumferentially. Each fixed electrode includes an interconnecting conductive member (33) and a plurality of conductive projections (23) extending inward. Further, the plurality of fixed electrodes are electrically grouped into a first group and a second group arranged in circumferential alternation. The first group connects to one terminal and the second group connects to an opposite terminal of a DC source. Furthermore, the motor includes a rotor assembly with a rotatable shaft (26) mounted coaxially within the insulating housing (36). A plurality of rotor members (25) are fixed to the shaft (26) at axial intervals. Each rotor member includes an insulating body carrying a plurality of charge-receiving conductive elements (24) on at least one face. The rotor members (25) are dimensioned to pass freely between the conductive projections (23). (
