Abstract: The present invention discloses a highly scalable, low-cost system and method designed to encourage appropriate public hygiene habits through an incentive-based reward program integrated with conventional, non-electronic waste bins. The invention eliminates the need for expensive sensors, power sources, or electronic hardware inside collection bins by using unique QR codes externally affixed to standard plastic or metal bins. Each code contains a unique identifier pointing to a specialized application URL. Upon throwing away trash, a user scans the QR code with a smartphone to access a mobile or web-based app. A cloud-hosted backend server authenticates the user, processes scan details (including timestamps and location data), and applies anti-abuse filtering rules to allow only one scan per bin during a specific time frame. Validated activities translate into loyalty points that can be redeemed for prizes, coupons, or digital badges.
