Abstract: AN ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU) WITH INTERNAL POWER STAGE FOR A VEHICLE AND METHOD THEREFOR ABSTRACT The ECU 100 adapted to control operation of at least one fuel injector 110 for an engine of the vehicle. The ECU 100 comprises an enclosure housing a controller 102 connected to an I/O interface 104. The ECU 100 is connected to the at least one fuel injector 110 through the I/O interface 104, characterized in that, at least one power stage 106, within the ECU 100, connected between the controller 102 and a predetermined number of control pins of the I/O interface 104. The at least one power stage 106 enables direct control of at least one fuel injector 110 without an external dedicated Injector Control Unit (ICU). The at least one fuel injector 110 and the ECU 100 are also connected to battery as power source.
