Abstract: AN ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT (ECU) TO DIAGNOSE HIGH BACK LEAKAGE FAULT FOR COMMON RAIL INJECTORS ABSTRACT The present disclosure relates to an Electronic Control Unit (ECU) 112 to diagnose high back leakage fault for at least one common rail injector 110 and a method for same. The ECU 112 is configured to maintain pressure inside the common rail 108 at a first predetermined value, actuate the at least one common rail injector 110 for at least one blankshot injection until pressure inside the common rail 108 matches a second predetermined value, determine number of blankshot injections performed by the at least one common rail injector 110 and time taken for pressure drop inside the common rail 108 from the first predetermined value to the second predetermined value through blankshot injections, and diagnose high back leakage fault for the at least one common rail injector 110 based on the number of blankshot injections and the time taken for the pressure drop inside the common rail 108.
