The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to advances that highlight the pivotal role of click chemistry in generating novel heterocycles with enhanced bioavailability. Among these, Electrochemical Azide-Alkyne Cycloaddition (E-CuAAC) stands out as a sustainable and efficient approach for synthesizing structurally diverse 1,4-disubstituted- 1,2,3-triazoles and functionalized analogues, including 4'-((4-phenyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-1-yl)methyl)-[1,1'-biphenyl]-2-carbonitrile. This method utilizes electrochemically assisted anodic copper oxidation with undivided Cu||Cu electrodes and NaASc as both the electrolyte and reducing agent. Conducted in DMF at +0.6 V under ambient conditions, the protocol enables rapid reactions with excellent yields. Green metrics calculations support its sustainability, demonstrating remarkable accomplishments such as lower E-factor (0.001-0.456), higher atom economy (100%), and maximum efficiency (99.91%).
