The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to electrobiomethanation (EBM) reactor to treat undiluted organic waste comprising: a reactor vessel; an electrode system comprising at least two carbon-based electrodes, each electrode coated with a metal; a power supply unit; a feed system; and a gas collection system. The invention also provides a method for electrobiomethanation of undiluted organic waste comprising the steps of: (a) adding an inoculum of microbial consortia for anaerobic digestion into the EBM reactor of claim 1 containing undiluted organic waste feedstock such that the ratio of the feedstock to the inoculum is in the range of 75:25 to 85:15; (b) regulating hydrolysis of the feedstock by maintaining electron transfer through applying a voltage of 0.3 to 0.8 V to the electrodes; and (c) controlling pH of the feedstock during anaerobic digestion in the range of 4.5 to 6.0 through oxidation of volatile fatty acids (VFAs) generated.
