MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541002328 A) filed by Mr. Balachandran Rajagopal on January 10, 2025, for An Electro-Magnetic Drive Shaft, Chain, And Transmission Braking System For Two / Four-Wheeler Automotive Applications.
Inventor includes Mr. Balachandran Rajagopal.
The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.
Abstract: AN ELECTRO-MAGNETIC DRIVE SHAFT, CHAIN, AND TRANSMISSION BRAKING SYSTEM FOR TWO / FOUR- WHEELER AUTOMOTIVE APPLICATIONS [0053] An electro-magnetic drive shaft braking system (100) is described. The system (100) comprises a drive shaft (110) adapted to rotate, with a first end (120) mechanically coupled to a transmission (130), an opposite second end (135) mechanically coupled to a driver gear (140) or a mechanical joint. A first electro-magnet (150) is positioned proximate to the drive shaft (110). A second electro-magnet (160) is positioned proximate to the drive shaft (110) and faces the first electro-magnet (150) such that a magnetic field that is induced around both the electro-magnets (150, 160) induces a magnetic inductive force on the drive shaft (110) that decelerates the drive shaft (110). The magnetic inductive force that is induced on the drive shaft (110) acts opposite to a direction of rotation of the drive shaft (110).
