The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a multimodal wearable system for detecting the emotion of an autistic adolescent in real time and providing assistance for social interaction, which includes a wrist-worn device, a plurality of multimodal sensing units, an edge artificial intelligence processing unit, an adaptive feedback unit and a mobile application. The wearable device has a camera to collect facial data, a microphone to collect speech and acoustic data, and physiological sensors that measure heart rate variability (HRV) and electro dermal activity (EDA). An edge AI model to identify the emotional state and the social-emotional situation in the context of stress, without sending raw audio or video data to a remote server, processes the multimodal data acquired locally. Facial landmarks, sounds (pitch and intonation), and physiology are combined to create an emotion and context evaluation. The system adaptively provides haptic feedback based on the detected condition as one or more haptic vibration patterns and optionally a visual display. Intensity and form of feedback is dynamically controlled depending on the detected physiological stress level and user sensory needs. The wearable device wirelessly connects to a mobile application, with the mobile application offering real-time coaching, individualized suggestion, emotion trend analysis, progress monitoring and caregiver support. The invention discloses an assistive system which is discreet, latency-free, privacy preserving and sensory adaptive that facilitates contextual social-emotional guidance for an autistic adolescent in real world interactions and facilitates development of social communication and emotional regulation skills.
