MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641099125 A) filed by Ceev Research Labs Private Limited on August 17, 2026, for An Edge Ai-Based Wearable Ophthalmic Imaging And Diagnostic Processing System For Automated Ocular Assessment.
Inventors include Dr K Venkata Subbareddy; and Panasa Viswanatha Vishnu.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: The present invention is a wearable ophthalmic imaging and diagnostic processing system for automated ocular assessment, particularly for the diagnosis of strabismus and other ocular alignment disorders. The system comprises a head-mounted imaging structure with a stable stabilization system, an imaging module, an image processing module with a controlled illumination system and an embedded processing system that maintains the same imaging geometry in the eye. The ocular images are then acquired from a corneal reflex-based ocular alignment assessment, primary ocular alignment assessment, and multi-gaze ocular assessment. The image quality assessment module automatically assesses an image and reacquires an image if it is not correctly captured according to the quality criteria. Accepted images are processed by a diagnostic processing system to generate quantitative ophthalmic assessment data and to identify ocular alignment factors. A clinical decision support and report generation module consolidates examination outputs from several assessment protocols into a complete ophthalmic examination report for storage, transmission and integration with hospital information systems and tele-ophthalmology platforms. The invention provides a portable, standardized and automated ophthalmic diagnostic platform for practice based on the use of a common ophthalmic examination system, reducing operator dependency (both onsite and offline) and facilitating objective ocular assessment in multiple clinical and community settings.
