MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521069538 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Gandhinagar on July 21, 2025, for An Ear Pressure Equalizing Device.
Inventors include Goyal, Atishay; Paroda, Kunal; and Saxena, Samriddhi.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT AN EAR PRESSURE EQUALIZING DEVICE The present disclosure envisages an ear pressure equalizing device (200) that comprises at least one earplug (202) configured to establish an airtight seal with an ear canal (100) of a user. The device (200) further comprises at least one pressure chamber (204) fluidly coupled to the earplug (202), at least one pressure-altering member (206) movably disposed relative to the pressure chamber (204), at least one actuator (208) operatively coupled to the pressure-altering member (206), and at least one fluid passage (210) extending between the pressure chamber (204) and the earplug (202). Movement of the pressure-altering member (206) changes pressure within the pressure chamber (204), and the changed pressure is communicated through the fluid passage (210) to the ear canal (100) to modify pressure acting on a tympanic membrane (102) and reduce a pressure differential between the ear canal (100) and a middle ear region (104).
