MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641070128 A) filed by Dr. Yenda Srinivasa Rao; and B. Jhansi on June 04, 2026, for An Autonomous System For Garbage Waste Detection And Classification Using Multi-Sensor Drones And Method Thereof.
Inventors include Dr. Yenda Srinivasa Rao; Dr. Salavaravu Laxmana Raju; Makkar Jayakrishna; B. Jhansi; and Yenda Yuva Kiran.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure proposes an autonomous system (100) and method for detecting, classifying, and monitoring garbage waste using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) (110) with multiple sensing technologies, thereby optimizing garbage waste conditions in urban, industrial, and public environments. The autonomous system (100) comprises a computing device (102) having a controller (104) and a memory (106) for storing one or more instructions executable by the controller (104). The controller (104) is adapted to communicate with and operate the UAVs (110) equipped with plurality of sensing units (112) through a network (114) to facilitate aerial inspection of waste container locations and surrounding disposal zones for detecting garbage waste, classifying waste types, and identifying hazardous materials. The controller (104) is adapted to communicate with and operate one or more waste collection trucks (116) to perform collection, transportation, or processing of the detected garbage waste.
