Jerold John Britto; Dr. R. Venkatesh; R. Prabhakaran; and Dr. S. Rajakarunakaran on June 29, 2026, for An Autonomous Solar-Powered Vision-Guided Waste Detection And Collection System For Water Bodies.

Abstract: It reveals an independent water body waste collection and detection system that is solarpowered and can help to reduce litter in the lakes and ponds. The system will include a solar energy collecting unit that will be adjusted to operate the system, a vision-based waste identification unit that will recognize waste materials in or within a water body, and a navigation and control unit that will allow the autonomous movement. A conveyor is used to transfer identified waste into a waste storage and collection box. The storage box and conveyor mechanism have mesh type arrangements that are set to allow water drainage and retain solid waste materials. It offers an obstacle detection module which is used to detect the obstacles in a movement path of the system whereby the navigation and control unit is set to automatically re-orient the movement path on notice of obstacles hence facilitating the uninterrupted collection of waste without depending on external power supply.
