MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611083964 A) filed by Uttaranchal University on July 08, 2026, for An Autonomous Crop Micro-Rescue System Using Drone-Deployed Bio-Pellet Capsules For Localized Soil Recovery.
Inventors include Khushi; Ajay Singh; V. K. Srivastava; and Ankita Joshi.
The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.
Abstract: An autonomous, closed-loop crop rescue system and method are disclosed for identifying and treating crop and soil stress within highly localized micro-zones. The system features an autonomous aerial drone equipped with thermal and multispectral cameras, an onboard AI processor, and a targeted payload delivery mechanism. The drone scans a field, using its sensors and AI models to isolate stress patterns like nutrient deficiencies, diseases, or drought down to a 1 square meter resolution. Upon detection, the drone automatically selects and dispenses eco-friendly, biodegradable bio-pellet capsules directly onto the target coordinates. The capsules, which contain customized blends of nutrients, beneficial microorganisms (such as Rhizobium), soil conditioners, and water-retaining agents, dissolve gradually over several days to facilitate slow-release soil rehabilitation. Follow-up scans provide a post-deployment feedback loop to evaluate treatment efficacy and optimize future applications.
