MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641091161 A) filed by Gaddam Satyanarayana; Prof K Ramji; and Andhra University on July 27, 2026, for An Automatic On-Board Active Tire Pressure Control System And A Method For Real-Time Management Of Tire Inflation Pressure In A Motor Vehicle.
Inventors include Gaddam Satyanarayana; and Prof K Ramji.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT (Not exceeding 150 words, in accordance with Rule 13(7)) An automatic on-board Active Tire Pressure Control (ATPC) system (100) for a motor vehicle (10) and a method thereof are disclosed. The system comprises a pressurised-air subsystem (200) with a reversible compressor (202) and reservoir (204); a conduit network (300); a wheel-side module (400) at each wheel including a rotary pneumatic union (402), a three-way electro-pneumatic valve (406) and pressure and temperature sensors (408, 410); a sensing suite (500); and an Electronic Control Unit (600) executing a closed-loop algorithm that continuously computes, for each individual wheel, an optimum target inflation pressure by jointly minimising rolling resistance, preserving braking and lateral-grip safety margins, and extending tire life, as a function of vehicle speed, per-wheel vertical load, accelerations, temperature and a driver-selectable operating mode, and commands corresponding inflation or deflation actuations subject to safety supervision.
