Abstract: The present invention relates to an automated toll collection system using GPS that eliminates the dependency on physical toll booths and manual payment methods. The system integrates a vehicle-mounted GPS module, microcontroller, and wireless communication unit to continuously transmit real-time coordinates to a cloud server. A geofencing engine within the server identifies vehicle entry and exit from predefined virtual toll zones, while a toll calculation engine computes the payable amount using the Haversine formula based on distance traveled. A secure payment gateway automatically deducts the toll from the user’s registered digital wallet or bank account. All transaction details, vehicle records, and toll zone configurations are stored in a cloud database and made accessible through a mobile application providing notifications and account management features. The invention reduces congestion, minimizes fuel consumption, enhances transparency, and offers a fully contactless and scalable toll collection mechanism suitable for highways, bridges, tunnels, and fleet operations.
