Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to an automated tobacco leaf classification and grading system (100) employing image processing and machine learning for real-time quality assessment. The system comprises a power supply unit (102), a motor control unit (104), a DC motor (106) driving a conveyor belt with a tobacco leaf input section (108), a camera module (110), a processing unit (112), a classification module (114), a mechanical sorting mechanism (116), an output unit (118), and a result processing module (120). The camera module captures images of tobacco leaves transported on the conveyor belt, while the processing unit preprocesses the images and forwards them to the classification module for grade detection and quality assessment using a trained dataset. Based on the classification result, the result processing module controls the output unit and actuates the mechanical sorting mechanism to separate the tobacco leaves according to their determined grade. The invention enables accurate, consistent, automated, and real-time tobacco leaf grading with reduced manual intervention, improved operational efficiency, and standardized quality assessment suitable for agricultural and industrial applications.
