Abstract: The present invention relates to an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) for use in warehouses, manufacturing units, libraries, and similar storage environments. The system comprises a structured storage rack, a motor-driven crane or shuttle mechanism, and a microcontroller-based control unit configured to automate the storage and retrieval of items without human intervention. The ASRS operates along multiple axes using stepper or DC motors to achieve precise positioning within the storage rack. A network of sensors, including infrared sensors and limit switches, is integrated to detect object presence, control movement boundaries, and ensure safe operation. User commands are provided through a keypad or software interface, enabling real-time control and monitoring. The invention is compact, energy-efficient, and scalable, making it suitable for small to medium-scale applications. The system improves operational efficiency by reducing manual labor, minimizing errors, optimizing space utilization, and enabling accurate, reliable, and rapid inventory handling.
