Abstract: The present invention relates to an automated robotic system for detecting and harvesting fruits is disclosed. The system comprises an RGB-D camera (2) configured to capture images of fruits, a robotic arm (3), and an end effector (1) attached to the robotic arm (3). The RGB-D camera (2) captures images of fruits which are processed using a trained convolutional neural network to classify the fruits as ripe or unripe. Upon detection of a ripe fruit, the robotic arm (3) is guided to the fruit's location, and the end effector (1) engages a gripper mechanism to detach the ripe fruit, while leaving unripe fruits intact. The entire process is controlled by a portable processing unit, ensuring accuracy and safety during operation. The system minimizes post-harvest losses, reduces labor dependency, and improves operational efficiency, and is applicable in commercial fruit farming, agri-tech industries, and precision agriculture for improving harvesting efficiency.
