Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention discloses an automated pavement health monitoring system (100) for monitoring pavement condition and forecasting pavement deterioration. The system includes a digital image acquisition module (102), a geodetic positioning module (104), an optical normalization module (106), an artificial intelligence surface validation module (108), an artificial intelligence defect extraction module (110), a damage quantification module (112), a GSD-based damage weighting module (114), a Pavement Condition Index (PCI) processing module (116), a pavement health mapping module (118), a deterioration forecasting module (120), and an asset reporting module (122). The optical normalization module (106) determines Ground Sample Distance (GSD) for establishing physical dimensions of image pixels. The artificial intelligence modules identify and classify pavement distress features. The damage quantification and weighting modules determine physical damage and severity. The PCI processing module (116) generates a PCI value, while the mapping module (118) generates a pavement condition map. The deterioration forecasting module (120) predicts future pavement deterioration, and the asset reporting module (122) generates an asset condition report.
