MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611092200 A) filed by Tulas Institute on July 29, 2026, for An Automated Device For Dispensing And Sterilizing Public Water Bottles.

Abstract: An automated device receives a reusable water bottle within an enclosed chamber, assesses bottle geometry and closure condition, and performs coordinated rinsing, ozone-based treatment, and ultraviolet sterilization. A protected nozzle subsequently dispenses a measured quantity of treated potable water according to estimated bottle capacity and sensed fill conditions. Segregated sanitation, drainage, and potable-water paths reduce cross-contamination. Door interlocks, sterilant clearance monitoring, water-quality sensing, leakage detection, and local fail-safe control prevent dispensing when required acceptance conditions are not satisfied during unattended public operation.
