Abstract: An automated device detects leaks in underground water pipelines by acquiring coordinated acoustic, vibration, pressure, and optional flow information at accessible pipeline locations. Conditioned signals are synchronously sampled and compared with an adaptive operating baseline. A classification process rejects short hydraulic and mechanical disturbances, evaluates persistent multimodal evidence, and assigns leak probability and severity. A localization process estimates a probable affected zone with associated uncertainty. Event information is processed locally and communicated remotely, while power scheduling, sensor coupling diagnostics, protected storage, and environmental sealing support unattended field operation.
