Abstract: ABSTRACT Disclosed herein is an asymmetric leaf microstrip antenna array apparatus and method thereof (100) that comprises a substrate (102) defining a top surface (104) and a bottom surface (106), a radiating assembly (108) positioned on the top surface (104), a feed distribution assembly (114) positioned on the top surface (104), a folded spike arrangement (128) integrally formed with the radiating assembly (108), and a ground plane assembly (130) positioned on the bottom surface (106). The feed distribution assembly (114) is receiving an input radio frequency signal and is distributing the input radio frequency signal to the radiating assembly (108). The folded spike arrangement (128) is establishing an extended electromagnetic current propagation path for resonance formation. The ground plane assembly (130) is cooperating with the radiating assembly (108) and the feed distribution assembly (114) for establishing an electromagnetic reference plane and impedance regulation during generation of electromagnetic radiation.
