MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611103466 A) filed by Suresh Gyan Vihar University on August 27, 2026, for An Aseptic Cartridge Exchange Apparatus For Closed System Pharmaceutical Fluid Transfers.

Inventors include Dr. Gaurav Sharma; and Dr. Ritu Gilhotra.

The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.

Abstract: An aseptic cartridge exchange apparatus is disclosed for closed-system pharmaceutical fluid transfers. The apparatus comprises a replaceable fluid-transfer cartridge, cartridge receiving interface, upstream and downstream isolation arrangements, sterile barrier, locking mechanism, cartridge identification arrangement, pressure monitoring, and leak detection. The apparatus sequentially isolates the fluid pathway, controls pressure, protects fluid-contact interfaces, verifies cartridge compatibility, and permits replacement without substantially exposing pharmaceutical fluid to the surrounding environment. The apparatus thereby facilitates rapid, controlled, contamination-resistant cartridge exchange for pharmaceutical manufacturing, compounding, filling, and drug-transfer applications.
