Abstract: ABSTRACT Disclosed herein is an artificial intelligence-enabled fiber optic root-zone monitoring and precision irrigation system that comprises a user device (102), a distributed Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) sensor array (104), an optical interrogator unit (106), an IoT edge processing node (108), a communication unit (110), a cloud computing platform (112), a memory unit (114), a weather data integration unit (116), a processing unit (118), a precision irrigation control unit (130), an irrigation valve assembly (132), a water pump unit (134), a farmer dashboard interface (136), and a power supply unit (138). The processing unit (118) acquires sensing data, historical data, weather-related information, and user inputs to determine root-zone conditions, predict crop water requirements, generate irrigation control signals, and control irrigation operations, thereby enabling autonomous zone-specific irrigation, improved water-use efficiency, and enhanced crop productivity.
