MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641074036 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Hyderabad on June 15, 2026, for An Artificial Intelligence Driven Autonomous Guardian Quadrotor Drone System For Releasing Payload And Method Thereof.

Inventors include Mamidi Bharath; and Jayshree Patnaik.

The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.

Abstract: The present subject matter discloses a method (600) implemented by an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven autonomous guardian quadrotor drone system (102) releasing a payload. The method (600) includes sensing, by a plurality of sensors placed at a top side (106) of a quadrotor airframe (104), a plurality of parameters associated with a target and the quadrotor airframe (104). The method (600) includes processing by an AI Engine (206), one or more parameters amongst the plurality of parameters. The method (600) includes identifying, by the AI Engine (206), the target and a type of the target. The method (600) includes transmitting, by a communication module (208), a signal indicating an identification of the target and the type of the target. The communication module (208) receives an instruction to perform an action. The method (600) includes commanding, by a controller (210), the payload to perform the action. The payload is detachably attached to an underside (108) of the quadrotor airframe (104).
