MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611083212 A) filed by Chitkara University on July 07, 2026, for An Artificial Intelligence-Based Ophthalmic Diagnostic And Predictive Contact Lens Management System.

Inventors include Saitirumaladev Kalicheti; and Astha Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an artificial intelligence-based ophthalmic diagnostic and predictive contact lens management system(100). The system(100) includes an ophthalmic imaging device(102), a server computing unit(114), and a user device(120). The ophthalmic imaging device(102) having a camera(104), an edge computing unit(106) and a communication module(112). The edge computing unit(106) having an edge memory unit(108) and an edge processing unit(110). The server computing unit(114) having a server memory unit(116) and a server processing unit(118). The server computing unit(114) connected to the edge computing unit(106) via the communication module(112). The system(100) automatically identifies corneal physiological features from image data, generates corneal oxygen transport parameters, determines contact lens prescription parameters, correlates patient-reported symptoms with the physiological data to identify contact lens-related complications, and updates the prescription parameters and patient management recommendations in a closed-loop manner.
