MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611089642 A) filed by Delhi Technological University on July 23, 2026, for An Apparatus For Wireless Communication.
Inventors include Choudhary, Priyanka; Sipal, Deepika; and Baudha, Sudeep.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an apparatus (100) for wireless communication. The apparatus (100) enables ultra-wideband wireless communication through a compact multiple-input multiple-output antenna architecture implemented on a low-cost flexible dielectric substrate (102). A first radiating element (104) and a second radiating element (106) transmit and receive electromagnetic signals through a first antenna port (108) and a second antenna port (110). A modified Sierpinski carpet fractal geometry patch (112) incorporated within the radiating elements increases effective electrical length and generates multiple resonant current paths, enabling broadband operation. A defected ground structure (114) modifies surface-current distribution and suppresses surface-wave propagation to improve impedance characteristics. A split ring resonator (116) interacts with modified surface currents and generates resonant magnetic fields that reduce mutual coupling between antenna elements. The apparatus (100) delivers enhanced inter-element isolation across most of the operating band, improved diversity performance, stable radiation characteristics, and reliable operation under planar and bent conditions.
