MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541088632 A) filed by The Andhra Sugars Ltd. on September 17, 2025, for An Apparatus For The Preparation Of Grain Massecuite And A Method Thereof.
Inventor includes Mullapudi Narendranath.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT AN APPARATUS FOR THE PREPARATION OF GRAIN MASSECUITE AND A METHOD THEREOF The present disclosure relates to an apparatus (1000) and a method (2000) for the preparation of grain massecuite from sugar molasses. The apparatus (1000) includes a feed distribution unit (100) having a feed inlet (110), a distribution header (120), and a plurality of header channels (130) for uniform distribution of sugar molasses to a calandria (200). The calandria (200) comprises a steam distribution unit (210), a plurality of heat exchanger tubes (220), and downtakes including a center downtake (240) and at least two concentric downtakes (250) to enhance circulation. An entrainment separator (300) prevents liquid carryover, and a condensing unit (400) equipped with a port (410) removes vapors. A collection means (500) collects the grain massecuite. A controller module (800) with sensors (810a–810d) monitors level, temperature, pressure, and conductivity for automated process control. The method (2000) enables controlled crystallization with improved efficiency and uniform mixing.
