MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611070537 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, Jammu on June 05, 2026, for An Apparatus For Reconfigurable Electric Vehicle (ev) Power Conversion.

Inventor includes Jena, Priyatosh.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an apparatus (100) reconfigurable Electric Vehicle (EV) power conversion. The apparatus (100) receives alternating current power through an external AC grid interface (102) and transfers the received power to a bidirectional isolated Dual Active Bridge (DAB) conversion stage (104) that converts the received power into high-frequency alternating current supplied to a high-frequency isolation transformer (104-4). A secondary DAB Bridge (104-6) converts transferred power into regulated direct current supplied through a non-electrolytic DC-link network (106). One or more non-electrolytic capacitive storage elements stabilizes DC-link voltage and suppresses ripple during bidirectional power transfer and a relay-assisted reconfiguration network (110) selectively establishes charging, propulsion, and vehicle-to-grid operating modes by electrically reconfiguring circuit connections. During propulsion operation, a primary inverter bridge converts direct current power into controlled three-phase alternating current power supplied to a traction motor (108) for enabling rotational propulsion torque.
