Abstract: The present invention relates to an anti-lung cancer drug composition (PoMEEDo) which includes pomegranate membrane ethanolic extract (PoMEE) and Doxorubicin and its method of preparation. PoMEE individually is non-toxic to non-cancerous HEK-293 (human embryonic kidney) cells and less toxic to A549 (lung adenocarcinoma) cells, but, the combination of PoMEE along with Doxorubicin (Dox), enhances the effect of PoMEE and Dox synergistically (at specific doses) and decreases the effective doses of Dox to minimize the side effects of the drug. This synergistic composition has anti-oxidant, anti-proliferative and pro-apoptotic potential.
