The anti-leishmanial composition comprises of an trypanothione synthetase–based (LdTryS) antigen, an adjuvant and an immunomodulator. Further, the anti-leishmanial composition facilitates the multiplication of T-cells, increase the release of cytokines and enhances antibody response. In addition, the anti-leishmanial composition stabilizes body weight and exhibits a synergistic effect through cellular and antibody-mediated immunity, thus providing a target-specific, safer alternative for the management of visceral leishmaniasis.
