MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541012329 A) filed by Bosch Limited; and Robert Bosch Gmbh on February 13, 2025, for An Algorithm To Control Hydrogen Flow From An Oil Sump Of A Hydrogen Engine.
Inventor includes George Anthony Prakash.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT An electronic control unit adapted to run an algorithm 100 to control a flow of hydrogen gas from an oil sump of a hydrogen engine is described. The electronic control unit adapted to run the algorithm 100 comprises permitting 110 air from an external source to flow into a sump of an engine cylinder to dilute a concentration of hydrogen gas present in the sump of the engine cylinder, and drawing 120 diluted hydrogen gas and oil particulate matter out of the sump by means of a crank case ventilation pump. The algorithm 100 further comprises sensing 130 a concentration of hydrogen gas flowing out of the sump by means of a hydrogen sensor, and delivering 140 diluted hydrogen gas that is drawn out of the sump to an air intake manifold of the hydrogen engine if the concentration of hydrogen gas flowing out of the sump is above a threshold limit.
