Abstract: The present subject matter relates to an alert system for a vehicle (100) and a method thereof. The alert system comprises a storage unit (102), sensors (104) disposed within the storage unit (102), and a control unit (106). The sensors (104) are configured to detect object(s) within the storage unit (102). The control unit (106) is configured to: receive sensor information from the sensors (104), process the sensor information to determine a state of the storage unit (102), the state being one of an empty state or a non-empty state of the storage unit (102), and upon the determined state being the non-empty state, transmit an output notification to one or more devices (112). The output notification is an alert indicative of the non-empty state of the storage unit (102), thereby indicating a user has left or forgot to pick up item(s) from the storage unit (102).
