MUMBAI, India, July 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411098830 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Delhi on December 13, 2024, for An Air Stable 3d Anode And Method Of Preparation Thereof.

Inventors include Vipin Kumar; Chhail Bihari Soni; and Ramakrishna Ramanath Sonde.

The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure discloses an air stable sodium metal anode. Particularly the present disclosure discloses an air-stable 3D sodium metal anode that remains electrochemically and mechanically stable. A three-dimensional (3D) copper mesh helps improve mechanical attributes of the sodium metal anode. While a thin protective layer of metal (Ag or Cu) or metalloid (Cu-alloys) provides stability against moisture. The as-designed sodium metal anode remains stable for over couple of minutes under open-ambient. Fig. 1
