MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641076182 A) filed by Sr University on June 19, 2026, for An Ai Powered Predictive Fault Detection System Using Edge Cloud Hybrid Architecture.

Inventors include Neruvatla Srikanth; Dr. Sachidananda Sen; and Dr. Mujahid Irfan.

The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.

Abstract: AN AI POWERED PREDICTIVE FAULT DETECTION SYSTEM USING EDGE CLOUD HYBRID ARCHITECTURE An AI-powered predictive fault detection system utilizes a hybrid edge-cloud architecture for real-time monitoring and fault management in renewable-integrated microgrids. The system includes an IoT Sensor Layer that collects multi-modal time-series data such as voltage, current, temperature, and vibration. Edge devices run lightweight AI models (e.g., LSTM, CNN) to provide low-latency anomaly detection, signal preprocessing, and local fault isolation. A Cloud Analytics Platform aggregates data across distributed sources to execute complex deep learning analysis, including transformer models and Remaining Useful Life (RUL) estimation. A Dynamic Orchestrator balances computing tasks between the edge and cloud based on operational network conditions and urgency. Updated configurations are securely deployed from the cloud to the edge via a Hybrid Model Exchange layer to achieve continuous learning. A Fault Notification Module prioritizes detected anomalies and delivers automated notifications or remote mitigation actions to reduce downtime and prevent cascade failures.
