Abstract: Mental health has emerged as a critical concern in modem society due to increasing academic pressure, work-related stress, social isolation, and lifestyle changes. Conditions such as anxiety, depression, stress, and emotional fatigue affect individuals across all age groups. Despite growing awareness, access to timely and effective mental health support remains limited due to social stigma, shortage of trained professionals, high treatment costs, and privacy concerns. This project presents an AI- Powered Mental Health Chatbot designed to provide immediate, confidential, and empathetic emotional support through text-based interaction. The chatbot uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to analyse user input, identify emotional intent, and generate supportive responses such as reassurance, coping strategies, and motivational guidance. The system functions as a first-level mental health support tool, encouraging users to express emotions freely and seek further help when required. The proposed chatbot is lightweight, userfriendly, and accessible through commonly available digital devices. By offering continuous availability and judgment-free interaction, the system promotes mental health awareness and early emotional intervention. This project demonstrates the effective application of AI in mental healthcare and contributes toward building accessible and sustainable digital mental health solutions.
