MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611083960 A) filed by Uttaranchal University on July 08, 2026, for An Ai-Based Intelligent Crow Detection And Adaptive Repelling System For Agricultural Protection.

Inventors include Manisha Prajapati; V. K. Srivastava; Rajesh Singh; and Ankita Joshi.

The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses an automated, solar-powered, and non-lethal system and method designed to detect, track, and repel crows and other crop-damaging bird species from agricultural fields. The system features an AI camera unit paired with an edge-computing processor (MCU/SoC) that runs a trained object identification model, such as YOLO or SSD, to classify birds in real-time based on their size, shape, and wing movements. To prevent pests from getting habituated to static stimuli, the processor runs an adaptive learning algorithm that logs deterrent performance history and dynamically rotates between multiple repelling tools. These tools include ultrasonic speakers, predator call audio systems, strobe lights, rotating arms, and integrated mini drones. The entire device runs independently off-grid via a solar panel and a 12V DC battery, and includes an optional smartphone alert module to provide farmers with real-time field updates.
