Abstract: Radiologists worldwide face an ever-growing volume of medical imaging data, with chest X-rays, CT scans, and other radiographic modalities generating thousands of studies daily that must be interpreted accurately and promptly. Manual review is inherently limited by radiologist fatigue, inter-observer variability, and a global shortage of trained specialists — particularly in low- and middle-income settings — resulting in delayed diagnoses, missed early-stage findings, and avoidable patient harm. Existing computer-aided detection tools are typically narrow in scope, targeting a single pathology, and lack the transparency needed for clinical trust: they provide a classification label without spatial localisation of the finding or any explanation of the reasoning behind the prediction. Furthermore, they rarely integrate automated reporting, requiring radiologists to manually translate model outputs into structured clinical documentation. There is therefore a need for a comprehensive, explainable, and clinically integrated AI system that simultaneously detects multiple radiographic abnormalities, localises each finding with visual heatmaps, quantifies prediction confidence with severity grading, and automatically generates structured diagnostic reports — thereby reducing diagnostic delay, improving consistency, and extending specialist-level radiological capability to under-resourced healthcare environments.
