The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT AN AI-BASED DEMURRAGE PREDICTION AND REAL-TIME MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR RAILWAY WAGON UNLOADING OPERATIONS AT BULK-MATERIAL RECEIVING FACILITIES The present invention provides an AI-based demurrage prediction and monitoring system (100) and method (200, 300) for predicting, monitoring, and preventing railway demurrage charges at thermal power plant coal receiving facilities and industrial sidings. The system includes a rake registration module (118), tippler status module (120), plant condition module (122), and a multi-parameter prediction engine (124) executing a 13-step algorithm (200). The prediction engine (124) computes queue wait time, placement delay, unloading hours, stockyard/conveyor penalties, total predicted detention, excess hours, and estimated demurrage charges at the time of rake arrival . An alert engine (126) monitors elapsed time and dispatches escalating multi-tier notifications (312, 316, 320) at 16{h), 20(h), and 22{h) milestones via SMS, Email, and WhatsApp. In an automated embodiment, AI cameras (106), edge compute panels (108), computer vision models (114), belt-speed sensors (110), and wagon counters (112) auto-detect tippler operational state and throughput in real time.
