Abstract: The present invention relates to an adjustable seat assembly (100) for a vehicle capable of moving between an installed position (A, C) and reclined position (B, D) and a method for monitoring an occupant in the seat. The adjustable seat assembly and method are configured to detect a plurality of anthropometric parameters or health parameters of the occupant by a plurality of sensors ; acquiring user characteristic information the occupant; identifying the occupant based on the user characteristic information; generating the output information of the identified occupant; receiving the output information of the identified occupant; controlling the movement of a base portion (30) and a back portion (40) of the adjustable seat assembly to move synchronously with each other based on the output information between an installed position (A, C) and a reclined position (B, D) at the same time. The adjustable seat assembly (100) and method according to the present invention is also configured to transmit an alarm signal to a remote location based on the state of the occupant.
