Abstract: An adjustable footrest assembly (100) for a vehicle (200) includes a pair of cylindrical rods (102-1, 102-2) configured on a chassis (202) at a rear end of the vehicle (200). A lower end (102-1B, 102-2B) of each cylindrical rod (102-1, 102-2) moves vertically by telescopically extending and retracting to adjust the height of the step plate (104) from a ground surface, facilitating the pillion rider to step on the step plate (104) while boarding on the vehicle (200). The adjustable footrest assembly (100) further includes a step plate (104) perpendicularly configured at each lower end (102-1B, 102-2B). A first end (104-1) of the step plate (104) moves horizontally by telescopically extending and retracting to allow the pillion rider to adjust the surface area of the step plate (104) to fully accommodate a foot of the pillion rider, ensuring a comfortable resting position of the foot over the step plate (104).
