MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641057420 A) filed by Sanjay J; Aadhithya K; and Sam Varghese George on May 06, 2026, for An Adaptive Vision Based Framework For Enhancing Windshield Visibility In Adverse Weather Conditions.

Inventor includes Sam Varghese George.

The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT An intelligent computer-implemented system and method is disclosed for enhancing visibility in vvindshield-captured images and video-frames affected- by- low-vi sibi 1 ity conditions, whi le supporting improved perception of traffic-relevant objects and roadway features. Degraded visual inputs acquired from vehicular imaging devices are processed through a multi-stage pipeline including input acquisition, preprocessing, hybrid enhancement, feature fusion, reconstruction, and perception-oriented analysis. The preprocessing stage may include resizing, normalization, illumination balancing, contrast stabilization. de- noising, and frame preparation. A hybrid enhancement framework employs at least one restoration- oriented processing branch and at least one context-aware enhancement branch to suppress atmospheric degradation, recover structural scene details, and improve visibility of semantically important regions. Outputs or intermediate representations from the processing branches are combined through a feature fusion mechanism and used to generate an enhanced image or video output. In certain embodiments, the enhanced output is further utilized for detecting, classifying, localizing, tracking, or interpreting roadway entities including vehicles, traffic signals, traffic signs, pedestrians, lane boundaries, and obstacles. The disclosed framework is adaptable to embedded systems, edge devices, cloud-assisted platforms, and vehicular safety environments, and is suitable for advanced driver assistance systems, intelligent transportation systems, and related machine vision applications.
