Abstract: ABSTRACT AN ADAPTIVE VIBRATION CONTROL SYSTEM The present disclosure relates to an adaptive vibration control system (100) for reducing dynamic excitations of a primary structure (10) subjected to variable mass or stiffness conditions. The system includes an adaptive tuned mass damper (TMD) unit (20) having a TMD mass (22), a damper unit (24), and a plurality of spring assemblies (25) incorporating a non-linear spring (25a) configured to provide variable stiffness through progressive grounding of its loops. A passive feedback control unit (30) is mechanically coupled to the TMD unit (20) and comprises a mechanical sensor (32) for detecting differential deflection of the structure, a mechanical amplifier (34) for amplifying the sensed deflection, and a mechanical controller (36) for converting the amplified displacement into a control force that axially deforms the non-linear spring (25a). The system enables real-time passive stiffness adjustment under varying loading conditions such as wind, seismic forces, and moving vehicular loads.
