Abstract: AN ADAPTIVE RESONANT GATE DRIVING SYSTEM WITH INTEGRATED THERMAL REGULATION FOR WIDE BANDGAP POWER CONVERTERS The present invention discloses an adaptive resonant gate driving system with integrated thermal regulation for wide bandgap power converters utilizing Gallium Nitride (GaN) and Silicon Carbide (SiC) devices. The system uses a resonant LC network to enable energy-efficient gate driving by recovering and reusing gate charge during switching transitions, thereby significantly reducing switching losses and improving efficiency. An adaptive control unit dynamically changes gate driving parameters such as voltage, current, and switching timing in response to real-time operating conditions and load variations. The invention further incorporates a thermal sensing and feedback mechanism that continuously monitors device temperature and regulates switching behaviour to prevent overheating and ensure safe operation. By integrating resonant energy recovery, adaptive control, and thermal management into a unified architecture, the proposed system enhances reliability, reduces electromagnetic interference, and enables compact, high-performance operation. The invention is particularly suitable for high-frequency power converters in electric vehicles, renewable energy systems, and advanced power electronic applications.
