MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641068381 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on May 27, 2026, for An Adaptive Hazard-Aware Emergency Evacuation System With Iot Sensor Integration And Hybrid Route Optimization.

Inventors include Arun Pandian J; Mohammed Rayaan N; Mohammed Thouqeer A; Mohammed Irbaz Raihan P; and Mohammed Athar K.

The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure proposes an adaptive hazard-aware emergency evacuation system (100) configured to dynamically generate and disseminate evacuation guidance under real-time emergency conditions using environmental sensing, graph-based spatial modeling, hybrid route optimization, and multi-channel communication integrated with IoT-enabled alert infrastructure. The system (100) comprises a computing device (102) having a processor (104) and a memory (106) storing machine-readable instructions executable by the processor (104). The processor (104) executes plurality of modules (108) comprising a building graph modeling module (110), a hazard acquisition module (112), a hazard classification and graph transformation module (114), a hybrid routing module (116), an evacuation output generation module (118), a multi-channel communication module (120), a control and logging module (122), and a role-based access control module (124). The system (100) computes hazard-aware evacuation routes, disseminates evacuation alerts, activates IoT-enabled alert devices, and maintains persistent logging for monitoring and post-event analysis.
