Abstract: An Adaptive Feedback-Controlled Spinning Polarizer for Glare-Free Imaging of Specular Gear Surfaces for Defect Detection. The present invention relates to a system for capturing glare-reduced images of specular objects using a feedback-controlled rotating polarizing element. The system comprises a camera, a polarizing element, a motorized rotation assembly, a processing unit, and a controller. The processing unit determines a glare-related metric from captured images, and the controller regulates rotation of the polarizing element based on the glare-related metric to reduce glare in subsequent images. The system operates in a continuous feedback loop during inspection of specular objects moving on a production line. The system provides glare-reduced images suitable for defect detection. [FIG. 1]
